Stories of Lost Child Siblings

Our Little Angel
by Sarah Keegan, Sydney, Australia

My older sister, Deborah was tragically taken from us at the age of only 9 - she was a victim of homicide.

My 3 sisters, our mother and I lived in a house on a relatively quiet street in suburbia. A male, who lived barely 200 meters from our family home, broke into our home in the late hours of July 15th 1987, and proceeded to rape and murder Deborah (aged only 9 at the time), while forcing myself to watch in silence. I was 7 at the time.

It has been 20 years since this event, but it seems like only yesterday.

We will never know what this beautiful, caring girl could have been.

I do know that she is now in a better place now - and it won't be long until we are re-united.
