BabySteps is named after the baby steps that form the long and difficult road to recovery from the loss of a child. No parent, relative or friend is immune from the pain that results from the loss of a young loved one.

The BabySteps Children's Fund is a not for profit organization dedicated to raising funds for research into childhood illnesses and their treatments. Babystepsgiftshop.com has an exclusive line of gifts for children and adults. Proceeds from these items are donated to the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada.

This site is dedicated to the life and memories of Spencer Marlon Kalpin, who's dimpled cheeks touched so many hearts during his short 20 month life.

BabySteps Children's Fund also administers the Spencer Kalpin Memorial Fund at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto Canada. This fund was set up to commemorate Spencer Kalpin, and to make direct donations to the Hospital for Sick Children. Click here to find out how you can help.

The Hospital for Sick Children -- affectionately called Sick Kids -- is one of the largest paediatric academic health science centres in the world, with an international reputation for excellence in health care, research, and teaching. Those are the three cornerstones of Sick Kids. As a local hospital, Sick Kids meets the basic health needs of children who live in the City of Toronto. But more than half the patients come from outside the city: they come from other parts of Ontario and Canada, and from many countries around the world.
