Stories of Lost Child Siblings

All Alone
by Sarah Powell, Geneseo, U.S.A.

When I was in 6th grade my brother was 15 and a freshman in high school. One day he ran home from a bad day at school and then got in trouble with my parents. He'd been having a very tough year since he was obsessed with going to the army and every one made fun of him. That day I was watching t.v and he was doing his homework. Not minutes later he was standing behind me and then jumped up and grabbed a gun off of my dad's gun rack. He then ran into the bathroom and locked himself in. I sat banging at the door begging him to come out but all he said was I'm sorry Sarah, I still love you. As soon as I heard the gun shot I ran to the back door to try to climb in through the bathroom window. Just then my parents came home and knocked down the bathroom door.

Ever since my life has been a living hell. Its been 5 years and my family is still suffering. We almost had to file for bankruptcy last month. I was so close to him and it hurt so much knowing he was hurting that much inside and didn't tell me even though we were more than just brother and sister we were best friends.
