At 16 I was raped by my mom`s boyfriend but never told anyone. I became pregnant from that event and shortly after found out my unborn child was sick. He was given a 50-50 chance of surviving after birth. I was also given the choice to end the pregnancy but I never wanted to do that. Mom supported me during my pregnancy. At 6.5 months along I went into labor and on June 5, 1997 I gave birth to my beautiful son. I had an hour to hold him and talk to him before he passed away in my arms. Afterwards, I went into shock. We buried him with our other family members in the same cemetery so I can find him easily. I miss him very much and think of him often.
