I'm A Mom

I found out I was pregnant the first week of April. It was completely unplanned but after a couple days, we were both excited, both talking about plans over the next year to prep for our newborn. The second week of May, I went to the ER after discovering I was bleeding. The ultrasound showed that my baby was no longer living, yet my dear sweet boyfriend didn't tell me this until months later, because he couldn't be the one to tell me that I had miscarried. I was sent home and told to take it easy. 2 days later I went back because of true contractions and severe bleeding - I later discovered I was hemorrhaging. I had to have a D&C and spent the next couple of days in bed while my boyfriend took care of me every way he knew how. To this day, I still have a hard time saying, "I'm a mom" without tearing up. I have no other biological children (3 beautiful stepsons) but in my heart I'll always be a mom to my first baby, who left us after 6 weeks of life in my womb. We love you, Baby.
