Stories of Lost Children
Her name was Allison
by Lisa Goodgion, Cabot, Arkansas, U.S.A.
My name is Lisa. My 11 year old daughter, Allison, passed away suddenly almost 4 years ago. I had taken her to doctors for allergies and night cough, etc., so many times. In fact, she had an appointment scheduled for 2 days after she passed away. She died of undiagnosed asthma. She went to school as usual, in the 5th grade, on Friday. She went to bed as usual that night. I went into her room on Saturday morning, after checking on her before I went to bed that night. I found her already gone, as she had passed away of respiratory arrest in her sleep. The coroner said she never woke up. My son was right behind me when we found her. May 3rd will be 4 years. The pain is unbearable, but somehow you learn to live with it. When people ask me how I go one, I have to say I don't know. God gets me through as well as going on for my son. I have recently remarried, and now have 2 new stepkids, who we raise. I love them so much. The pain never goes away though. I miss my daughter so much. Lisa Goodgion, Cabot, Arkansas
