Stories of Lost Children

Our Angel Ava
by Annette Adams, , MA, U.S.A.

It has only been a week since we lost our baby girl, Ava. I went in last Wednesday for a routine appointment and they couldn't find her heartbeat. I was sent for an ultrasound and they told me she was gone. I have never felt so empty in my life.

I delivered Ava Thursday at 7:44pm. She was 4 pounds 11 ounces and 17 1/2 inches long. She had thick wavy black hair, pouty lips and an adorable little chin! I have never seen such a beautiful baby. We held her, took pictures and dreamed about taking her home. I wanted Ava so badly and it pains me to think about her. We did what no parent should ever have to do and buried our daughter yesterday.

They found nothing wrong with our little girl and we have no answers to help our hearts heal. They say time heals, but I'm not so sure. Everytime I see her crib, her clothes or even hear her name, I break down. I can only look at her picture and pray that she is happy and safe now. Someday I will see her again.

In loving memory of our
little angel, Ava Carmella.
