When Randy Kalpin, one of the founders of BabySteps, unexpectedly lost his 20 month old son Spencer, his grief was overwhelming. Searching for information and knowledge that could help him with his pain and confusion, he turned to books. Unfortunately, he found that it was:

"...hard to find good books that dealt exclusively with bereavement as a result of losing a child. I didn't want the big grief picture. I lost a child and all I cared about were books that spoke to me and my particular loss. It was with this in mind that I provide you with my recommended reading list, reviewed from the point of view of a bereaved parent."
