Stories of Lost Grandchildren

Hannah Jordan
by Tampa Newport, Maryville, Tennessee, U.S.A.

Hannah is my third beautiful granddaughter, she was born on May 7, 2001. When she was three weeks old she got a cold, or so it seemed. On June 1st, she was put in the Hospital, she wasn't getting enough oxygen. Within just a few days she was transferred to Childrens Hospital, Picu. She was diagnosed with Pertusis,(whooping Cough). Hannah was in trouble, after 6 days she was flown to Vanderbilt Hospital and put on the Ecmo machine. This machine did everything for her, so that her lungs could mend. She seemed to be making great progress. Her nurses from Childrens called daily, we told them on Friday that Hannah would be coming off Ecmo on Monday, 6/19/01. They were elated that Hannah would be coming back home soon,as were we. Only the Lord had different plans, Hannah died of cardiac arrest that monday morning before she could be taken off the machine. The pertusis had eaten the lining of her lungs and heart both, making them very weak.Hannah is the most precious of angels today. I want to urge you all to encourage mothers to keep their childrens shot up to date, You see, Hannah being too young for her DPT shot cought Whooping Cough from someone who hadn't had their's.

Please pass this story on, please keep us in your prayers, as will I.
