Emily was born November 21,2014 she passed March 10,2015. Emily was born with half a heart. Hope was held out through an open heart surgery, and a brutal heart cath but with nothing to be done, she quietly and thankfully peacefully passed in her Mother's and Father's arms. I had the great joy of being able to be with her for the last month, for 5 days at home and till the end in the PICU. My heart is breaking for the loss of this sweetie, yet at the same time I am so glad she is at peace. I will miss her sweet warm little body cradled in my arms, and rubbing her owl's down hair. It hurts to see my son try not to cry, and my husband sob, but knowing her little body and her great big soul won't be hurt anymore will have to do for now.
