Stories of Lost Grandchildren

Our Angel Chance
by M.V., Vacaville, CA, U.S.A.

My daughter and sil had tried for 9 years to concieve. Two years ago they tried In-Vitro and she got pregnant, but soon found out it was an ectopic and they had to abort. They then tried in-vitro again, but it was not successful. At the beginning of this year they decided to take another chance, but with artificial insemination. Hallelujah it worked.

She was 32 weeks into her pregnancy with a little boy who they had decided they would name Chance, when she started having stomach cramps. She called me on Wednesday, July 27 and said she had been cramping since the night before. She thought she needed to go to the bathroom, but was having trouble with that as well. I suggested that she call the doctor. I took her to the dr that afternoon and they could not find a hb. The dr then did a vaginal exam and my daughter started bleeding profusely. They then put her in a wheel chair and rushed her to the hospital. There they did an ultrasound and found the baby was no longer alive. She had a placental abruption and Chance had died. She then had to be induced so she could give birth to our Angel, Chance. He was born into the precious arms of Jesus on July 28, 2005. We were all able to spend some time with him and hold him before the funeral home came to pick him up. They had a beautiful service for him, but all of that does not fix !
the hurt that my little girl is suffering.

I want to fix her pain, but I am helpless to do so. She wants to try again, but she is scared to death. She has already lost 2 babies and she wonders what is in store for her ahead. Her and her husband would make wonderful parents and so dearly want a child. I just do not understand why it cannot happen for them.
