Stories of Lost Child Siblings

My Sister
by A.W., Waleska, U.S.A.

MY life was turned upside down on December 13,1975. My sister was hit and killed by a teenage girl on the way back from a convenience store. Since that day my family has never been the same, and my mother blames herself. I feel that I should have been with her even though she was 2 years older than myself and then maybe perhaps she would somehow still be here. I was 7 and she would have been 9 years old on December 31st 1975. I remember CHRISTMAS was no fun and all the family did was cry. I felt so lost; she was my friend (Best Friend). It's been 27 years and I am now 35, but the pain never leaves! And I am just learning to drive because of the fear that I had of driving and being afraid to get behind the wheel of a car.

I can feel how someone else feels to lose a sibiling when someone who perhaps was drunk or messed up on drugs kills your loved one. I hope my story keeps teenagers safe while on our roads by not drinking or doing drugs. It destroys lives forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
