Stories of Lost Child Siblings

She Rode Off in the Sun.
by kathy karr, Carlock, .

My oldest sister, Holly, and I use to show horses together. She was a amazing rider. She also use to make me laugh no matter the situation. I guess you could say I always have strived to be like her she truely amazed me in all she did.

On Sept. 22, 1998 she passed away in a car accident. Today, two years ago, was the last time I talk to her. Someone once told me your weakness is your strongest ability. I believe that now. I thank God for the time he gave me with her, though I would have loved much more. Yet, because he took her from me it has only made me apprecate her, my friends, and family so much more.

Today I still think and talk of her as she is here. In my mind there is still apart of her here as long as people keep smiling and laughing. After Holly's accident I was going through some of her things and I found her diary, yes I know she would probable be beating me up if she was there but I had to read her own words to feel close to her. While I was reading I stumbled upon something she had written that allowed me to deal better with her loss. This is what she wrote.

"Now I know this probable sounds weird but I believe God put me on earth to make people happy. I know not the whole world but as many people as I can."

When I thought about I realized my sister is at her job, the job God had meant for her. She is up in heaven where she can look down o the whole world. Though I would love to have Holly back here as just my angel. I know Holly wouldn't want me to be selfish so I am proud to let the whole world share my sister as their gardian angel too.

I use to tell students stories of Holly, when she was still with us to make time pass. There was always a fun story about her. I would like to share one of those fun stories.

Holly use to work at Dairy Queen. She has long blond hair and they had to put it back in there hat in a pony tail. Holly had just got done making a blizzered. She turned around really fast and the next thing she knew her head was stuck to the blizzered machine. The machine had caught her hair and raped it all up in it. Her co-worker and friend was laughing so hard at her that she couldn't get it out. They also had all the customers there. Everyone was laughing including Holly. It took them about 45 mins to finally get her hair out.

I miss my sister dearly and because of that I will never stop laughing and smiling because that is how I remember her. Sometimes when I laugh or my brother and other sister laughs I hear Holly laughing with us.

I love you Holly! Your very proud sister

Thank you to all who read this.
