Half a Heart, but Full of Love

Kayla Paige is turning 13 on September 25th. I don't know if they have parties in heaven, but that is where she will be. The day after she was born, hypoplastic left-heart syndrome was the diagnosis. 3 choices, two with little guarranty, one with nothing but waiting. We decided against heroic measures and spent 1 week at home and two weeks at a hospice. I could, as I'm sure all of us could, go on for ever about the stories, the miracles and the tears. At one month, I could not believe there would be another day much less thirteen. If given the choice to be able to never grieve again, I would have to turn it down. Although I would have chosen for it to never have happened, I am at a place where I would love to hear from anyone about the death of their child. My e-mail is thklmom@aol.com
