Olivia was my first baby. She was 4 days shy of being 9 months old. She died from congenital heart defect-tetralogy of fallot, av canal defect. She also had some brain damage. At 3months, she went into cardiac arrest and we lost her for 25minutes. She stayed at the hospital for about a month and she was scheduled to have open heart surgery on Aug 11, 2008. But before the surgery they wanted to do a heart cath. She suffered some blood clotting from that and had to stay in the hospital overnight. She stayed home over the weekend. That Monday she went in and they watched her clotting. Within 2 days they couldn't even get a reading of her blood pressure on the monitors. Her oxygen salts were at the 40's and 50's and the numbers on her monitor just got worse. They said her heart was worse and they couldn't do the surgery. It wouldn't help and she wasn't able to be on the donor list because she had brain damage. They said it was just a matter of time and she would probably die within the day. She died on Aug.19, 2008. We never thought this would happen; not even the doctors knew she would die this soon. We thought she would have surgery and be fine but that is not what god had in store for her. We love her and miss her so much I feel like I'm just having a nightmare and I can't wake up. I really don't know what to do. I planned her and couldn't wait to watch her grow up and now I will never see that. I just don't feel right living everyday and not taking care of my daughter. I don't know why all of a sudden she just died without warning. I just don't feel like I got to know her good enough because she was so young. How do I go on?
