Stories of Lost Children

Precious Jenni
by Maribeth, Lewiston, ID, USA

It has been three months this week and I am still feeling the loss and the pain is so intense. We lost our daughter Jenni on Thanksgiving morning. Jenni was 21. She suffered from a genetic disorder called San Fallipo. Although Jenni was severly disabled and had become so ill with pnemonia she was our strength. Through all her suffering and disabilities her smile could brighten any day. Our 21 years with Jenni were a challenge but one we met with love and a need to give her the best care that we could. Jenni had a brother who is 18 and a sister who is 10. She also had a grandma who loved her so. Kathy was her careprovider for 10 years and she too is feeling this pain and loss. The morning Jenni died she was in the hospital emergency room and we had to make the decision to keep her on life support or let her go. We knew what we had to do but it was so difficult to say yes.My heart aches at the thought. I'm so grateful for the family and friends and for our faith. They have all been a tremendous strength for us. It just seems I need to let people know how much we are all still really missing Jenni and how painful this process is. I read and I know of so many people who experience and even some who go through this more than once. I just pray for strength for our family to endure this and get through it.
