My Daughter, My Hero, My Best Friend

I just lost my 28 year old daughter December 20Th, 2006, after a long nine year battle with a very rare form of cancer. Wendy fought this with every thing she had. She loved life. The doctor's only gave her three days to live in 1997. God gave her more. She was an amzing young woman. She always said she had a wonderful life except for the cancer. We love her and miss her so much. I was her caregiver these nine years, The past two years I had to stay with her everyday. We were so close. Wendy and I traveled the United States a lot looking for treatment and things, and on every trip we made, no matter how sick Wendy was, we took one day and made it a mother/daughter day. We saw Times Square, We rode a buggy through Central Park. We shopped til we dropped (which was one of Wendy's favorite things to do)at Wake Forest. We saw Texas together, we laughed a lot while I pushed her in her wheelchair down the sidewalk in the snow in Birmingham and we saw thw Liberty Bell together. Wendy and I have so many memories. We have so much to hang on to. The doctors told us that medically, Wendy was dead three years ago, and didn't know why she was still living. but we knew that God had plans for Wendy. Wendy touched so many lives with her story, and I am now working on writing a book about Wendy's cancer and the miracles that God has done these last nine years. It was amazing! We will always miss Wendy and think of her everyday, and we will see her again. If it wasn't for that, I don't know what we would do. I love you Wendy. Momma, Barbara, Ms Turner. Barbara Turner
