Stories of Lost Children

SAM I AM
by Philip Jo, Norman, OK, U.S.A.

Our little girl Susan Angelique Martin was Born July 31, 2006. Sam had a heart defet that we knew about from the time I was 20 weeks pregnant. Phil and I discussed our options at that point and came to the conclusion we were both against aborting but decided to have my tubes tied to prevent this from happening again. I am a dieabetic and over 30 years old the risk of having another child with this same defect grew as we get older. I had a decent pregnancy with SAM and went for NST's twice a week. Only July 31st during a routine NST the doctor did not like the way the baby's heart rate was always dropping so we did an emarngancy c-section. Sam was born at 5:08pm and weighted a good 6lbs. She was 18 1/2 inches long and such a precious little girl. At the age of 2 weeks old Susan under went one of what would have been 3 open heart surgerys. She made it through this sooo well. one of the risks we faced was an infection. Susan came down with infection after infection her little body could not fight. On October 27th 2006 ar 10:30am our little girl passed away and got her wings. I was FINALLY able to hold my little girl in my arms. The nurses were soo good to her and when Sam was dieing they asked me if I wanted to hold her. I so said Yes and scooped my little girl up in my arms. This was one thing I rarely got to do due to all her wires, tubes and IV's

Susan is now in Heaven with God. I just wish I had more time with her I know the 3 months I got was a blessing in her case.
