Stories of Lost Children

Unbearable Loss
by B.K., Harrisburg, PA, U.S.A.

On February 1st 2005, I went to my daughter's apartment because she did not answer her phone and had not shown up for work. I found her in her bedroom, beaten and strangled; she was pregnant with my 2nd grandchild. As I found out through the investigation and her friends, she was in a very abusive relationship and I never knew. I had a bad feelings about the guy and told my daughter to stay away from him but she thought she was in love and wanted to have his baby. I had no idea the Hell she was living, she even told friends that she was afraid he was going to kill her. God how I wish she would have come to me, I would have protected her. I would have made him go away and never hurt her again. I love her and miss her terribly and just have to wonder what my darling grandchild would look like and be like. There was so much love in my family for that child. My daughter was an unbelievable person, beautiful, kind and so full of life; we wait patiently for the day we will all be united. The one true blessing that I have left is her beautiful 6 year old son that I am raising.
