Hello Heather - Your story of Timothy was so touching I had to write back. I am so sorry to hear of your terrible loss. The way you described your son I felt like I knew him too. You see, I spent only 24 hours with my son, my only child, who died after being born at 25 weeks because of a rare intrauterine Group B Strep infection. I am 49 and he was my first. Don't ask me why I waited so long -- it was silly! -- but when I finally decided I wanted a child I pushed heaven and earth aside (IVF) to do it. And then this happened -- a disaster that had nothing whatsoever to do with my age. I have been utterly crushed for 8 months, starting to get happy again in hopes of an adoption from Cambodia, and then having my hopes dashed when that country closed to adoptions by Americans. Now thinking about my baby James again, all over again, with much of the pain as in the beginning.
I read your post and truly felt your pain. What a dear boy you had in Timothy. I am so, so sorry that he left you in that sad way. I am so, so hoping that you will find some peace, that we all will find some peace one day.
