Stories of Lost Children

My Still Born Son
by Margo Munroe-Clarke, Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas

Well it is still a little hard to talk about.

But, it all happened on the 28th May, 2001. In the heat of all the excitement, I did not even know that my baby had stopped moving. I was so excited just to be pregnant after eight years of the first one.

But to my despair that morning when I went into labour, the nurses said that they had not heard a heart beat, then my whole world seemed to fall apart.

No one seem to know what I was going through. I started to blame myself for what had happened to my son DeShawn. My other son cried and said mommy my brother died. It was heartbreaking. I just wanted to hold him for one brief moment and say that I was sorry.

The hospital never did a post mortum so I don't know what happened.

I just hope that one day soon the Lord would open up my heart, and to shall love again.

Margo
